What is interesting is that white fold and blacks who PARTNER with white folk can come into the African American community and grow food as long as it is in the spirit of robbing, degrading, intimidating other African Americans; but it is not okay for an African American born in the local community to grow their own food for themselves or to share;

Livingstone is a minister and farmer[very nice person]sent to area through systems[Africa] to help white male secretly rob and contol local African Americans of their wealth- Mrs. Patterson, stated We’re here and we want to "meet the needs of the East Winston community.”
WE includes:
1. Wake Forest University[a federal depository library][http://www.gpo.gov/libraries/]where was given a LIFEtime WARNING ticket for looking up EMPLOYMENT laws
2. Lynne Mitchell, the Preventative Health Services director for the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, is working with Patterson to implement the program= with the KEY WORD being Preventative= PREVENT- African Americans from developing ECONOMIC GROWTH in their economic community that is free from illegal and immoral behavior=in other secret system designed by white males to take over/control of African American communities[throughout the United States];

Have blogged about Livingstone and "MORINGA"= was suppose to be developed so that people who grow and produce the moringa[Africa and the United States] would be rich; but to create the market; would mean that African Americans who would be the primary customers would be denied food; therefore moringa would be needed to maintain some type of health; which coincides with the new re-elected? head of the United States Administration going to Africa to donate billions/millions of dollars to help Africans to access electricity; but increase the cost of electricity in the United States for African Americans[know white people have a hard time understanding Africans and African Americans=Africans were born in Africa; African Americans were born in the United States=each have a different mindset];

“I think it’s a beautiful combination,” said Mawutor, who is known locally for his moringa plants, which are said to promote energy, reduce chronic pain and ease a variety of other health conditions. “It’s right there, so we’ll partner and then she (Patterson) will let me know the things that they need, so we’ll partner together.”

The last time I spoke to Livingstone, he said "that the vast majority of the corn was for livestock=animals more so than people" which is in line with white males thinking of African Americans as pets/animals[not human]; [http://wschronicle.com/2013/03/community-helps-end-fresh-food-deserts/];

When incoming Winston-Salem, N.C., Police Chief Barry Rountree responded to a dangerous weapon call this week, chances are he didn’t expect he'd be shooting at a dog. And missing the dog. And watching the bullet ricochet off the sidewalk. And into in the leg of the dog's owner. That’s what allegedly occurred, and now Tamara Witt, owner of boxer Lebrone, claims that Rountree didn't react to her liking. "He did not come to me," said Whitt, but Rountree's partner Mohammed Khan reportedly did offer speedy aid. "[Rountree] just backed up and I saw the cellphone come out." The cops stated that Lebrone ran at them aggressively, causing Rountree to shoot. Whitt said her dog is "very passive," and called the officer’s action "a rookie mistake." Though he's currently on administrative duty, Rountree's swearing-in is scheduled for this Sunday. [Source]

Community helps end fresh food deserts

If the Dreamland Park community is a food desert, then Attorney S. Wayne Patterson and his wife Tamica want their Attucks Street shop to be an oasis. The couple’s Rebecca’s Store Grocery & More is the first local participant in the Healthy Corner Store Initiative. Funded by the North Carolina Division of Public Health’s Community Transformation Grant Project, the Healthy Corner Store Initiative encourages local retailers to add healthy food options to their shelves, making it more convenient for their customers to make healthy choices.

Rebecca’s Store Grocery & More is partnering with local growers and community garden programs to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to residents of Dreamland Park and the surrounding community.
“I am elated because now we’re not only having the fresh produce, but we’re building communities and partnerships for the local farmers in the neighborhood …and it’s right here in what is known as a food desert,” commented Mrs. Patterson, who manages the convenience store’s day to day operations. “We’re here and we want to meet the needs of the East Winston community.”

Lynne Mitchell, the Preventative Health Services director for the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, is working with Patterson to implement the program. Mitchell said the model of using community-based convenience stores has proven effective in other cities and towns across the state.
“They’re already in the neighborhood,” she said of convenience stores. “Healthy food needs to be accessible to people and readily available.”
Mitchell said she had attempted the project with another convenience store, but the effort was unsuccessful. By adding additional support elements, such as a monthly newsletter and food tastings at the store that showcases healthy recipes, Mitchell and Patterson said they are hopeful that the program will take off at Rebecca’s Store.
“I’ve been a nurse 19 years, and I know the direct correlation between food and disease prevention,” Mrs. Patterson declared. “What people eat can change their outcomes.”
Mary Lynn Wigodsky, a community resource associate at Wake Forest University School of Medicine’s Program in Community Engagement, was among those on hand last Friday for the second monthly food tasting event at Rebecca’s Store. Between bites of the grape dessert salad Mitchell had prepared, Wigodsky expressed her enthusiasm for the Initiative.

“I think it’s really exciting. I’ve been involved for serveral years now with the health department on their Health Equity Team, and we have talked about the need to build up the community food system where there aren’t enough (grocery) stores,” said Wigodsky who grew up working in her father’s market in Maryland. “…As much as community gardens are a really great thing, they’re not the sole answer. We’ve got to have stores that are open longer hours that are year-round.”
Livingstone Mawutor, who farms a quarter acre plot of land just across the street from the store, will be among the area growers who will be contributing their crops to the effort. The longtime farmer and Ghana, Africa native praised the effort.

Howard University alumna Dominica Lambson moved back home to the Dreamland Park community after college. The 25 year-old has managed to drop 60 pounds through diet and exercise.
“I think that fruits are a girl’s best friends – I try to start my day off with them,” said Lambson, who added that she was thrilled that some of her dietary staples are now available at Rebecca’s Store. “It’s just convenient; it helps out. I really like it, and I think it gives the kids in the area a good thing to see.”
The couple opened Rebecca’s Store, which is named for Attorney Patterson’s late mother, in September 2011, but Mrs. Patterson is taking it far beyond her husband’s imaginings.

It has just been a blessing for my wife to get in contact with Lynne and vice versa,” said Patterson, who also serves as president of the local NAACP chapter. “They have actually taken this store to the next level.”

The article "Navy's first black pilot: Thomas Hudner returns for Ensign Jesse Brown" mentions Ensign [code=

"Bible Dictionary
Ensign definition

(1.) Heb. 'oth, a military standard, especially of a single tribe (Num. 2:2). Each separate tribe had its own "sign" or "ensign." (2.) Heb. nes, a lofty signal, as a column or high pole (Num. 21:8, 9); a standard or signal or flag placed on high mountains to point out to the people a place of rendezvous on the irruption of an enemy (Isa. 5:26; 11:12; 18:3; 62:10; Jer. 4:6, 21; Ps. 60:4). This was an occasional signal, and not a military standard. Elevation and conspicuity are implied in the word. (3.) The Hebrew word _degel_ denotes the standard given to each of the four divisions of the host of the Israelites at the Exodus (Num. 1:52; 2:2; 10:14). In Cant. 2:4 it is rendered "banner." We have no definite information as to the nature of these military standards. (See BANNER.)

"Navy's first black pilot: Thomas Hudner returns for Ensign Jesse Brown"

Navy’s first black pilot Ensign Jesse Brown may be coming home soon. According to a July 19 New York Post report, Brown’s friend is returning to North Korea with one mission in mind – to keep the promise he made to bring his friend home. “We’ll come back for you,” was the promise Hudner made more than 60 years ago as he tried unsuccessfully to save Brown, who was trapped in his down fighter plane in the “Frozen Chosin.”
The 88-year-old veteran plans to return to Pyongyang on Saturday with a search team to work with North Korean soldiers to excavate the crash area. Hudner is aware of, but does not plan to stay in North Korea for the nation’s armistice anniversary and military parade planned for July 27. He hopes however, that his visit will add fostering peace and reconciliation in the region.
The battle that claimed the life of Brown and more than 6000 Americans lasted 17 days. More than 7,910 Americans, including Brown are still considered missing in action. The armistice between the United States and North Korea ended the war on its July 27 signature date.
According to the Portland Press Herald, Hudner received the first Medal of Honor in the Korean War for his efforts to save Brown. The Navy has honored Hudner by naming the DDG 116, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. The destroyer is currently under construction at Bath Iron Works, in his honor.

“We want to try to get a lot of people from Winston-Salem to participate in the Forward Together movement,” said S. Wayne Patterson, president of the local NAACP chapter. “Even though the presidential election is over, there are still issues in the General Assembly that we must address. We just want everybody to know that. We’re trying to make sure that they’re very aware of what’s going on in the North Carolina General Assembly.” State Conference President Dr. William Barber II said the tour will build upon the foundations that have been created through the organization’s annual HKonJ (Historic Thousands on Jones Street) Rally and the organization’s Moral Monday event, a weekly civil disobedience effort where NAACP leaders and partners gather at the General Assembly to pray for legislators and raise awareness about the laws they are passing, which the NAACP has called “regressive.” One hundred fifty eight North Carolinians have been arrested in connection with the effort since Moral Mondays was launched in April.
“In February, we brought thousands of people to Raleigh to promote a positive vision for the uplift of all of North Carolina and challenge the regressive agenda of the leadership in the NC General Assembly and Governor’s Mansion,” Barber said in a statement denoting the start of the Forward Tour. “In April, we brought 500 grassroots volunteer lobbyists to the People’s House to ask that the legislators govern for the good of the whole. Since November, we have reached out to meet with legislative leadership to try and work together for the benefit of all.” The tour, which includes stops in Charlotte, Hickory and Wilson, is part of a “nuts and bolts” organizing effort the state conference is spearheading to spread awareness about legislation being passed in the NC General Assembly and to galvanize constituents and empower them to hold their legislators accountable, said NC NAACP Field Secretary Rob Stephens.=? No picture of Rob Stephens=?;

We looked at where we had strong grassroots organization already in place, but we also looked at areas where people needed to know what their legislators were doing,” he said. Legislators are cutting funds for public education, denying Medicaid benefits to thousands of eligible individuals, repealing the Racial Justice Act, which allowed death row defendants to have their cases amended to life in prison if they could prove that race played a role in their sentencing; and completely defunding the NC Prisoners’ Legal Services, which requires prison administrators to provide inmates with “adequate assistance from persons trained in the law,” NAACP leaders say. Barber said legislators’ disregard for their demands and dismissal of their attempts to meet and discuss pertinent issues further has prompted the NAACP to take their message directly to the people through the Forward Tour. “Once they refused to meet and refused to stop their destructive campaign against the poor and most vulnerable in our state, we had no choice but to commit our constitutional responsibility to instruct our legislators by engaging in nonviolent civil disobedience,” he stated. “Even if they pretend not to hear us in Raleigh, legislators’ constituents in the four corners of the state will hear the bad news of their decisions to govern for the good of the few and wealthy at the expense of the majority of North Carolinians.” The tour is the result of a collaborative movement that has been gaining momentum for some time, Stephens said.
