Below is copy of one of letters sent to person concerning getting help because of harassment from local community of which partly because lot of people that should help involved in the stealing of a TWIN child and same group trying to intimidate me to accept bribes to cover situation up; desire is to have no contact with group and for them to stop sending their bullies within my sphere; and they do have that ability;
After reading story of Dr. Alvin Blount your paper appears to be concerned about person[s] civil rights; and one of the issues of Dr. Alvin Blount- ACCESS to whites-only hospitals; is my main issue-access to economic, social, and legal system to whites only [AND access only to African Americans who give up their life to serve whites only] that is being operated in Winston-Salem, N. C..
Presently, African Americans in Winston-Salem, N. C. are suffering through how to maintain the value of their homes where the values have been cut 60%; when in reality the issue is more pressing; how to maintain what little access most African Americans have of a predominately whites only and blacks who serve whites only system; Am presently seeking to connect with other person[s] who see effects of abusive system in my life; have two degrees; but threaten that if get work that is not illegal or immoral, will be put confinement.
Someone said, first they came and knocked on my door; I came to you for help, you turned your head, then they came and knocked on your door. Please do not turn your head; lives are at stake; not just mine. Please feel free to share as necessary;
Thank You for your response,

Subject: Dan Rathers Report
9/1/12
Saw the “Dan Rathers Report” on 8/21/2012 entitled “adopted or abducted” on channel 131 approx. 8 pm to 10pm which was about females that had had children stolen at birth and the women were trying to locate their child. The Dan Rathers website listed your organization as one of the organizations affiliated with the television program; which lead to my calling your office; speaking to a Jessie, who gave me the id of Rebecca D. because of the local church and authorities attempts to hinder progress towards goals of restoration.
In the Dan Rathers report “Adopted or Abducted”; it was stated that in all the countries- Australia, Canada and the United States that the churches and the authorities had been working together and were the foundation for the system of thief of the children; which includes the interference of any type of assistance to someone seeking restoration. Part of that interference might include the interruption or intimidation of Jessie [your personnel] to hinder their helping me to acquire local support to address issues.
Have found out that the local churches/communities and authorities did participate in the taking of the child which I did see on the internet. The local church that am currently visiting had Family and Friends day on 8/26/12 [last Sunday]; while walking to get in line to get food; a male walked up to me; he had a tray of food and said excuse me; I was as far over to the wall that I could get; then finally after standing there about a minute; said; sir there is more than enough room for at least three people for you to get through; but I am going this way[meaning on the right side]; the next thing I knew the guy[Joseph] had taken the plate of food and smashed it in my face. The overseer has been E. K.[KING] Givens and Dr. W. E. JohnsonThe Pastor Tyrone Johnson[NEW Pastor of Carver; the visiting pastor [who [Joseph] came with] [New HopeBaptistChurch] both seemed amused at the incident. Josheph[guy who smashed a plate of food in my face stated that it better be the end of it or expect worse; have not reported incident or filed any charges because anytime I have gone to authorities to help with something that has been done to me; it is always reverse so that I am in the wrong; so stop going.
Left anywhere from four to five voice mails requesting help; when I saw the Dan Rathers report, there was confirmation, not only of the child that was stolen, but the other issues relating to churches and authority and explained a portion of why the mistreatment by the church and authorities.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could contact someone locally in Winston-Salem for them to be local support; as librarian stated someone in a position where the local church and authorities have abused would be very reluctant to trusting the local folk.
Thank you for your response

GREENSBORO — African American physicians were being denied medical privileges across the South when local black doctors and dentists in 1962 took Moses Cone and Wesley Long Community hospitals to court for equal access.
Other lawsuits with the same intention had failed.
“We didn’t think there had to be a fuss about it, but since there was a fuss, we had to go to the courts to be our mediator,” said Dr. Alvin Blount, 91, the last remaining member of the lawsuit, which was affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1963.
The year after the Moses Cone decision, Congress passed the Civil Rights Act, which prohibited private discrimination in public places.
“I speak for those other nine when I say we persisted and justice then prevailed,” Blount said.
Cone Health System will honor Blount at 2 p.m. today at Moses Cone as part of the celebration of the 60th year of the opening of the hospital.
The lawsuit, officials said, is an important part of Cone’s history. Cone, like most hospitals in the Jim Crow South, required doctors to belong to the local medical society, which didn’t give full membership to black doctors.
“I shudder at the days we had these kinds of segregation practices,” said Tim Rice, the CEO of Cone Health Systems. “Dr. Blount lived through it and changed it.”
The doctors — led by former Greensboro NAACP President George Simkins, a dentist — were among a generation of top-of-the-class medical students denied residencies and the ability to treat patients in segregated hospitals, including Moses Cone and Wesley Long.
The local doctors used those slights to fuel a historic fight to the U.S. Supreme Court that hastened the integration of hospitals across the country.
“This case was as important to integrating hospitals and staff as Brown (v. Board of Education) was to integrating schools,” Rice said.
Blount “was so gracious. He kept saying he wished George (Simkins) was here to see (today’s celebration),” Rice said.
The doctors found a loophole through the Hill-Burton Act, which said federal money for public facilities could not be used to discriminate. The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals opened the door, with the U.S. Supreme Court affirming the landmark decision integrating all hospitals that received federal financial assistance.
Blount, a 1943 graduate of N.C. A&T, already had served as chief of surgery for a M.A.S.H. unit in Korea. He was the only black doctor on the medical teams made famous by the movie and television show. He worked shoulder to shoulder with white surgeons and found that he was as qualified as they were — in some instances, more qualified.
He and his wife, Gwen, a Bennett Belle, raised seven children while building a medical practice here. He would serve as chief of staff at L. Richardson Hospital, where most black people were treated at the time.
“He means the world to us because he’s our dad, but we are very proud of him — particularly because he and the other physicians had the courage to bring the lawsuit,” said daughter Sherri Blount Gray, an attorney.
It mattered because the newer Moses Cone Hospital had all the latest instruments, equipment and operating room support, but as the lawsuit argued it excluded black doctors and dentists.
“This case led to a completely different path for equality but also something as pressing, namely good medical care,” said Steven Friedland, a law professor at the Elon University School of Law.
Blount, the first black doctor to operate at Moses Cone, remembers that gall bladder surgery — partly because of the “Glad to see you” and “Bless my soul” comments he heard from the black nurses and custodians who were working that day.
Since then, Cone has had several African American chiefs of staff. Dr. Henry Smith, a black cardiologist, is chairman of Cone Health’s board.
“A lot of times, people don’t really understand the history behind some of the things you are able to do today,” Smith said. “Every minority physician in Greensboro has a respect for what he did — and it was the right thing for him to do for all the patients in the community.
“We are standing on his shoulders.”
Blount, who uses a walker, continues to practice.

“He is brilliant,” said Martha Reid, his assistant for the past 36 years. “Like the old folks used to say, ‘When they made him, they broke the mold.’ ”
